Management Focus, working with TBR Economics developed the evidence base for Brent Council’s first economic development strategy. With new responsibilities for economic development and a desire to make the most of opportunities brought about by the redevelopment of Wembley and resurgence of the Park Royal industrial estate, Brent Council needed to prepare an economic strategy for the borough. A robust evidence base was required.

The work involved:

  • Detailed desk based analysis using data drawn from government statistics, proprietary data and a range of other sources,
  • Interviews with businesses and existing support agencies such as Park Royal Partnership and
  • A review of national, regional and sub-regional strategies.

This generated a wealth of economic and related data that needed interpreting and bringing alive. Through a series of workshops and a highly graphical report Brent Council were able to prepare a robust strategy using a small team within a relatively short time scale.
