The Speakers

Jonathan Cooper, is MD of Amano, the growing chain of continental styled all-day cafes.  He also co-founded EAT and led the operational set up of AIM-listed central European chain, coffeeheaven international plc.  Jonathan has a wealth of experience to share in how to set-up and run a hospitality business including raising venture capital and a stock exchange listing.

Julian Clarke-Jervoise is a director of First Protocol, a leading event management company based in Bankside.  Julian has extensive experience of buying Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism (HLTT) services and will provide the inside story on what the professionals look for.

Lynda Sudlow set up Feast of Friends four years ago after seven years working in the industry with Marco Pierre White and the White Star Line.  Lynda specialises in advising restaurants on marketing and sales.

Stuart Hopson Jones is a former Conran restaurants executive who has founded and run many businesses including Smiths of Smithfield, The Polygon, Harlem Soul Food, The Priory Inn Tetbury and now The Prince and Dex in Brixton.  He was also a founder of the Briston Collective.

Moira Taylor is General Manager of London MICE, the industry resource for promoting businesses to corporate buyers of MICE services.

The Project

This event is being run as part of a project to promote the Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism (HLTT) sector in Lambeth.        

The project is being carried out by Management Focus and Gavurin, specialist economic development companies that have worked extensively in the sector across London.

Restaurants and bars dominate the sector and make up over half of all businesses and employment. 

Our research has also shown that some businesses are doing well, whereas others could do a lot better.
