Evaluation of North London City Growth
Martin worked with a small team of trusted associates on this assignment. LDA commissioned a final evaluation to assess the overall economic impact of £1.3m invested in a range of business support activities in North London based largely in Haringey and Enfield. The original programme has sought to revitalise the local economy through:
- Cluster development in areas such as the creative industries, food, sport and leisure
- Advise and guidance to small firms
- Coaching to the chief executives of firms demonstrating growth.
The evaluation, which was fully IEF compliant, included:
- Face to face interviews with stakeholders
- A statistically robust survey of participants
- Review and analysis of outputs
- A full gross to net working to establish the actual impact of the programme
- Preparation of case studies to illustrate learnings, good practice and difficulties
- An assessment of strategic added value
- Feedback on lessons learned.
The final report was well received and judged to be an example of good practice.
