Tourism in Central London

A central London Council acknowledged that the Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism ( HLTT) sector was important to them but did not have any robust data on its size, composition, growth or the issues that the businesses saw as important.  They asked us to investigate and advise on how best to interact with the sector.

The work involved:

  • Detailed desk based analysis using data drawn from government statistics, proprietary data and a range of other sources
  • Interviews with businesses and business organisations
  • Running a good practice event for businesses in the sector

We prepared several reports that provided:

  • A clear indication of the type and number of businesses involved, employment, areas of growth and some of the key issues
  • Guidance on how best to communicate with the businesses
  • Advice on supporting business to business networking
  • An action plan on how best to support the sector
